Tapping into the budget-friendly market, Kymco has unveiled the KRV 180 maxi-style scooter at the 2021 Beijing International Motorcycle Exhibition. The Taiwanese manufacturer currently caters to markets in Europe, America, Asia, Central and South America.
On the styling front, the KRV 180 takes inspiration from its elder sibling, the AK550. It gets a sharp front fascia, featuring an LED headlight running DRLs. Its overall proportions are comparable to its much larger rivals.
On paper, the KRV 180 seems quite promising. Powered by a 175.1cc single-cylinder motor, the new Kymco scooter makes 17.3PS and 15Nm.
The KRV 180 is also a feature-rich offering, with not only dual-channel ABS but also a traction control system for when things get slippery. It also comes with keyless ignition, an LCD instrument cluster, and a USB charging port.
The Kymco KRV 180 is sprung on a telescopic fork and a KSS central shock. Dropping the anchor is a 270mm front and a 235mm rear disc. It tips the weighing scale at 141kg and gets a 7.2-litre fuel tank.
Back in 2019, Kymco made a brief appearance in the Indian market along with 22 Motors, however, its sales never really took off so it's unlikely to bring the KRV 180 here. Instead, you can take a look at the Aprilia SXR 160, Aprilia SXR 125, and the much affordable Suzuki Burgman Street.
